Unofficial Bon Iver video – shot in NZ

By now you’ve probably seen and enjoyed the official music video for Holocene – well a couple of weeks ago Jagjaguwar were sent a short fan video by Brisbane, Australia’s Dylan Wiehahn for “Holocene” on the eve of the release of the official music video for the same song by Nabil Elderkin. They were immediately struck by the similarities. Dylan was inspired by New Zealand, and he filmed his younger brother walking around the forests and lakes of Queenstown. For two directors half a world apart, “Holocene” evoked visions of time-lapsed clouds moving over mountains, youth, and brilliant scenes of the natural landscape. It’s a pure coincidence that you can check out for yourself.
