Labretta Suede and the Motel Six relocated to New York (sans their Kiwi rhythm section) a few years back after forming in Auckland in 2005. After a while of searching for, what they call “the right kind of strange” – they finally hooked up with Max Speed $1000 on bass and Captain Gerry on drums – they have a new album “Dirty & Dumb” and will be heading back to NZ to tour Feb/March this year.
