Afrikan Boy first got peoples attentions when, aged 17, he wrote ‘One day I went to Lidl’ which went on to be a worldwide internet smash, with fan-made Youtube videos totaling over 7,000,000 hits. Shortly after the making of this track he was approached by M.I.A. and he collaborated with her on ‘Hussle’ featured on her Kala album.
Since then he’s been on several M.I.A. tours and remade a version of ‘Paper Planes’ Ft. Afrikan Boy & Rye Rye.
Back in July last year Zane Low broke his collaboration with Dj Shadow – I’m Excited as his “Hottest Record”.
The South East London Rapper has a brand new single from a forthcoming EP and an album in the works. The single is called Kuta Kinte; the six track EP is called AB CD and is sue out at the end of April and the debut album 1444 Musik.

And here’s a couple of clips for reference… firstly the aforementioned One Day I Went To Lidl and then the DJ Shadow song (video for which contains flashing lights so be careful if flashing lights make you do strange things, or something…
