Skuzzy San Diego surf punk band Wavves will be crashing onto our shores for one show only next week. Please excuse the totally tubular puns.
Today, the promoter, Mystery Girl confirmed that the local support acts for the show will be Street Chant and The Raw Nerves.
Live, Wavves’ frontman Nathan Williams, will be joined by bassist Stephen Pope (of the late Jay Retards band) drummer Jacob Cooper and guitarist Alexander Gates at The Kings Arms next Thursday night (3rd May). Tickets are still on sale via UTR and Real Groovy for only $40 (plus bf).
The Raw Nerves are Alex, Rory, Dave, and Rob. They like garage rock, punk, doo-wop and Slayer and make ‘emotional toughguy music.’ Their single “Nazi” is doing the rounds of the bnets at the moment and their self-titled debut album is being pressed onto vinyl in Nashville, ready for a June release. Their shows have started ending in blood, beer and big smiles.
While, Street Chant have a lot to be proud of; trips to the CMJ Music Marathon and South By Southwest festivals, as well as multiple New Zealand and Australian tours plus 2010 award winning debut album ‘Means’ and they have a new double A side 7″ single and digital release coming out next week – keep your eyes open for the Frail Girls/Salad Daze double A side single out on Arch Hill.
Also have you seen the new promo photo for Street Chant? It’s awesome, look…
PS : Keep your eyes peeled to Cheese on Toast – we’ll be giving away WAVVES tickets this week!
