I was / am still a big fan of the bFM hit Hallucinogens by Wellington three-piece The Boxcar Rattle (Roland Brown (vocals, guitar), Isaac Mawson (drums), Alden Sharp (bass)) – so I’m pretty excited about the release of their 13 track debut self titled album via their Bandcamp this week.
On their Facebook they cite The Beatles, The Pixies, Bob Dylan, The Stomps, Jimmie Driftwood, Hank Williams, and Karl Marx as influences. I hear a rich rustic psychedelia about them that stands out as something quite different.
