Mixtape from RUBY FROST

Ruby Frost made us a mixtape!

Check it out here…

Here’s the tracklist and what Ruby Frost has to say about her selections

ABBA – Lay All Your Love On Me
Swedish pop is amazing. I almost made this mixtape a full-blown ABBA tribute.

The Knife – Silent Shout
More Swedes. I still love this song – it makes you want to run through a night forest.

Grimes – Genesis
Her voice is silvery and magical, and I like the simple production and 80s Casio beats she’s used in this song. It makes you feel happy… and the whole album’s pretty great.

Jeff Buckley & Elizabeth Fraser – All Flowers In Time Bend Towards The Sun
Jeff Buckley and Elizabeth Fraser (from The Cocteau Twins) dated for a while. I found this song on a blog and it’s pretty heartwarming/amazing… I like how you can hear her laughing at the end.

Opossom – Why Why
This song is amazing.

Electric Light Orchestra & Olivia Newton John – Xanadu
The musical-movie ‘Xanadu’ is pretty awful/tacky, but I have been listening to the soundtrack from it a lot. Lightspeed Champion did a good cover of this song, but I still like the original 80s version best.

Bjork – Cosmogony
The chorus melody in this is beautiful.

Holy Ghost! – Wait And See
The guy who produced my album also produced this, and he told us to go watch them play when we were in New York. They were great.

Girls – Vomit
When the chorus kicks in this sounds like a giant, twisted Gospel song. I like the way Christopher Owens writes, he reminds me of Elliott Smith.
