The Audience announce the first recipient of the NZ On Air ‘Wild Card’ Making Tracks grant.

The first month of The Audience voting has come to a close. Over 50,000 visits to the site were record during the month of June and voting on the unreleased tracks has been completed.

WATERCOLOURS has been announced, today, as the first recipient of the NZ On Air ‘Wild Card’ Making Tracks grant.

WATERCOLOURS is Chelsea Jade Metcalf. Her song “Nightswimmer” was the most popular ‘unreleased’ track for the month of June on theaudience.co.nz.

You can listen to the winning artist and track here

The NZ On Air ‘Wild Card’ funding will contribute 10k to the making of a video and further recording of the WATERCOLOURS track.

This means, of course, that July’s voting is open now.

The Audience have also issued a statement :
“Throughout the last few weeks we have been listening to feedback and getting suggestions from artists, music businesses and music fans. As a result, artists can now load as many unreleased or released tracks as they like onto theaudience.co.nz, but only one track can be considered for the ‘Focus’ unreleased chart. We are continuing to develop the site and we will be rolling out improvements and new features over the following weeks and months.”
