THE BENGAL LIGHTS reform for one special night – with BANDICOOT!

Muzai Records have announced, this morning, that The Bengal Lights, who haven’t played together since 2008, will perform one very special show in Auckland in August.

Zoe and Maeve met at MAINZ and formed The Bengal Lights in 2006, and soon became a mainstay in the Auckland underground music scene, culminating is support slots for Dinosaur Jr and Erase Errata. The duo split in 2008, Zoe became Zowie and Maeve formed Cat Venom with Ms. Zina Gladiadis.

But wait, there’s more… on a quest to reform bands beginning with the letter B – Muzai approached ex members of Bandicoot, and, as they put it – ‘after much “ums” and “ahs”, BANDICOOT have decided that since The Bengal Lights are playing together, they’ll play together with them; bringing two eras of all-ages scenes together under one roof.

In association with Cheese on Toast this night of Auckland underground music recent history revisited will take place on Saturday 25th August at Whammy, with further support to be announced – who may, or may not be a band beginning with B who have split up*

*probably won’t be.
