Top 5 from LUGER BOA

LUGER BOA are back on the proverbial road at the end of the month.

We asked them for their current Top 5 tracks; there’s five of them in the band so they gave us one each. Very democratic, indeed.

1.You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine- Death From Above 1979
Joe – Drums

Now and then you hear a song which gallops and thunders all at once. This track rips along with masses of energy, contrasted with a haunting long verse melody which floats over the mayhem beneath. This track just grabbed me with all its intentions of intensity and spat me out the other side before I was finished with it. Consequently it has been getting thrashed.

2. Roxy Music – Editions Of You
Johnny – Guitars

This just sounds and looks like a party I want to be at. Equal measures of depravity, feathers, tuxedos and rock n roll.

3. Adam & the Ants – Car trouble
Simon – Bass

A tasty & twisted old favorite brought back to mind at an exceedingly drunken work do, courtesy of the wife’s boss. I now remember that I love this track. Booze, I salute you!

4. Bebe Buell – Funtime
Sam – Guitars
A sleazy, robo-rock rendition of Iggy’s ’77 original, by former Playboy model and “Queen Of The Groupies” Bebe Buell. Produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars. It turns me on in oh so many ways.

5. Guitar Wolf – UFO Romantics
Jimmy – Vocals
As someone comments on this clip “If coolness has a name its ‘Guitar Wolf’ “. He/She is right. They are probably the coolest band in the Universe. So happy that Luger Boa have been given the honour of sharing the stage with them and their Sonic Fury in and around Tokyo in the upcoming weeks. FUCK YEAH! I absolutely can’t wait. Incredibly excited, and have been stoking the fires of the rock n roll furnace with repeat plays of my favourite Japanese bands. And these guys are ICHIBAN!

LUGER BOA are playing with Clap Clap Riot and Villainy
Thur 26 Jul – Bodega, Wellington
Fri 27 Jul – Brewers Bar, Mt Maunganui
Sat 28 JUl – Kings Arms, Auckland
