The best gig in the land this week, in my opinion, is on Saturday night at Auckland’s Kings Arms.
It’s the Rackets EP/Video Release party.
Rackets just dropped their latest EP onto Bandcamp this week – entitled Could Do Better – jeez the number of times those stinging three words appeared on my school reports when I was a kid…
And – excitingly, the EP is also squeezed onto a slice of 7″ vinyl available at the show!
What’s even more bloody exciting about this show is that CHRIS KNOX is performing a set! He’ll be on stage at 8pm “on the dot” according to Racket’s Facebook event.
But wait, there’s more (to coin a phrase) also on the line-up are Popstrangers, Sal Valentine and the Babyshakes, the brilliantly named Team Cat Food and Huf (as well as Rackets, obviously).
The music video for Snake in the Grass is released on Saturday too.
………
Other gigs worth mentioning, and your time to go to this week are :
The Bemsha Swing album release party at MUM Clubnight at Cassette on Friday with Xuri Xruz and New Natives.
and Hyperpotamus from Spain is playing Leigh Sawmill on Friday and Golden Dawn on Saturday.
