Gig Picks 17-22 Oct

This weekend is Labour Weekend – so an extra day off work for most.

PUPPIES is opening in Wellington

BLINK – they guy behind A Low Hum is opening his new venue this weekend – it’s called Puppies and its on the corner of Vivian and Tory Streets in Wellington. It’s only open on Friday and Saturday nights.
The big point of difference that Ian is keen to make is that, unlike other venues who have unpredictable run times and late starts – he will always publish the show times and they will, he promises, always run on time.
Doors open at 8pm; first act on 9pm, second on 10pm and third on at 11pm. It’s $10 entry before midnight – and free after. From midnight there will be dj entertainment and a nightly ‘mystery guest’.

This week kicks off in style with Leno Lovecraft, Black City Lights and Quarks on Friday and Disasteradio, Surf Friends, and Yvanlesca on Saturday.
