Premiered on Pitchfork, yesterday – The Ruby Suns have released a brand new single from their forthcoming new album Christopher to be released via Sub Pop / Memphis Industries – and it’s a FREE download (in exchange for your eMail address) – check the widget below. The new song is snazzy and shimmery and called Kingfisher Call Me.
Pitchfork say that the song is “every bit as radiant and major-key melodic as their past work, but there’s a greater emphasis on emotionally legible lyrics (“Dry your eyes/ Is what to do/ Don’t listen to anyone except for you”) and a gleaming electronic sheen that puts the band more in line with the likes of Purity Ring or Yeasayer’s Fragrant World than any of the beach bums they were said to have presaged.”
