TOP 5 : from Franko Eggleton of KITTENTANK

KITTENTANK are headed up to Auckland to throw a double-whammy album release party with their pals Hoopla this Saturday night at Whammy & Wine Cellar.

Cheese on Toast asks Franko from KITTENTANK what tunes are making him purr-hard right now…

Pj Harvey – Bitter branches

I have been a huge fan of Pj Harveys for years, i got to see her a few years ago, it was amazing. I look forward to every album she puts out. Its always on my playlist.

Cobra Killer – Good time girl

Cobra Killer have been around a few years now, i don’t know if enough people know their stuff. Way back, remember when everyone used Myspace, I messaged them to see if they would come to NZ (from Germany), they said they would if someone would pay the flights!!
I never had the money though!! Stink, check out their album 76/77. Lets have a problem!

The Oh Sees – The Dream

These guys were amazing when they came over and played!! They have been Kristens (Kittentank) favourite band pretty much since they started. So she was blown away when we went to see them at Mighty the night before her birthday, then again in Whanganui on her birthday, they are in the top 5 best live bands that I have seen. And they are coming back in Feb yeah!

Bardo Pond – Be a fish

Not sure when i first heard this, but its still one of my favourite tracks of all time, to me its kind of perfect noise pop. probably most people into pop would disagree, i think its a great track!!

Wild Flag – Romance

Take some Sleater-Kinneys and Mary Timony and you’ve got amazing!! Nice to hear some noisy shit again, more please!!
