Dunedin based NZ Music institution THE CHILLS are headed to Wellington on December 1st for a one-off performance.
THE CHILLS haven’t played in the capital city since 2004 (although Martin Phillipps did perform solo as support to New Pornographers in 2008).
They play as a five piece, featuring alongside frontman Martin Phillipps: Erica Stichbury (Keys/guitar/Violin), Oli Wilson (Keys) James Dickson (Bass), Todd Knudson (Drums).
On their long-overdue return to Wellington – playing at Bodega on Saturday December 1st – Martin says :
“The band and I are long overdue a visit to Wellington as we know lots of Chills fans are there and the crowd at Bodega are always really enthusiastic and supportive. We are all looking forward to playing Wellington (my birthplace) after far too long of a break”
THE CHILLS recenetly signed to Far South Records and have a very special limited edition vinyl box coming out soon and a new Martin Phillipps solo live EP and album is due out shortly exclusively on iTunes.
Joining The Chills at the Wellington show will be local Wellington band – The Hipper Critters featuring Bruce Mahalski who is also contributing artwork to a new iTunes release
