Rest in Peace – Soul Sister Number 1 – MARVA WHITNEY

Funk / soul singer MARVA WHITNEY – who toured and collaborated with James Brown, earning herself the title “Soul Sister Number 1″ has passed away.

Possibly most well known for her songs It’s My Thing and Unwind Yourself; Marva also toured with the James Brown Revue through Vietnam, Europe and North Africa.

It is reported that Marva passed away as a result of complications from pneumonia on Saturday. She was aged 68.
