The New Zealand Music Commission have issued a press release announcing the first round of 2013 Outward Sound funding grant recipients.
Four Stage Ones, three Stage Twos and four Business Development grants were awarded; the recipients are :
Having recently signed to US independent music company +1 Music, Ghost Wave released their debut EP in the US this past August and supported the release through showcases at CMJ 2012. The band are now setting up the release of their debut album in that territory and performing in and around SXSW 2013.
Mel heads to Brighton in the UK to showcase at Europe’s leading festival for new music The Great Escape Festival. She then heads off on her own tour of Germany, Ireland, and the UK.
Signed to Warner Music Australia, the band are not allowed to rest on their laurels quite yet. They are now heading over to Australia for “an intense 10-day media blitz.”
The band will support the release of their album on Carpark Records / Spunk in Australia with a tour with US band Wild Nothing. They will then relocate to the UK where they will be basing themselves for the next four months in order to capitalize on the touring and press opportunities available there.
CAIRO KNIFE FIGHT
Cairo Knife Fight are now preparing the UK release of their EPs through Cooking Vinyl and setting up the release of their debut album. They will be performing at The Great Escape in Brighton as well as several London dates.
Sola Rosa are currently readying the US, UK and European release of their album Low and Behold High and Beyond. The band will be following the release with a full band tour building on the successes of the previous year. The UK/European leg of the tour will include an appearance at Glastonbury.
DIE! DIE! DIE!
Die!Die!Die! are preparing to head off again supporting the UK release of the Harmony album – with stunning limited edition packaging – through Smalltown America Records, taking in festival dates in Europe and showcasing in and around SXSW 2013.
