Laneway announces THE PRESETS and CAT POWER addition to Auckland line up, but JAMES BLAKE cancels

St Jerome’s Laneway Festival have announced two additions to the already massive line-up for the Auckland show at Silo Park on Monday 27 January (Auckland Anniversary Day). CAT POWER and THE PRESETS have joined the party, while JAMES BLAKE has, regrettably, cancelled.

However, JAMES BLAKE will no longer be performing at the festival. After an impressive rise on the global stage in 2013, UK’s talented James Blake has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist and due to the time-clash with the Grammys he cannot attend both.

In a press release issued today, Laneway co-promoter, Mark Kneebone said “Laneway supports James Blake’s decision to go to the Grammys. We are totally gutted that he is unable to make it, however we appreciate this is a huge achievement for James Blake and his career. Due to James Blake’s tight tour schedule it is not possible for us to schedule replacement dates.”

He continued, “We worked right through the Christmas break to secure the best replacements we could. After multiple attempts over the years, we are very happy to announce that Cat Power and The Presets will be joining us for Laneway 2014.”

Ticket holders who are unhappy with the line up change may seek a refund by eMailing davidb@lanewayfestival.com.au with your full ticket details including quantity and barcode numbers. Refund requests will be accepted from today through till 5pm NZDT on Thursday, 16th January 2014. After that date, no further refunds requests will be considered.

As previously announced, LORDE is also unable to perform at the Laneway Festival on Jan 27th also due to a clash with the Grammys. However, a separate LORDE show has been organised in lieu of her performance on Wednesday 29th January. Remember, if you already hold a LANEWAY ticket you can claim a FREE ticket to this Lorde show by visiting the Laneway website and clicking MORE INFO under the LORDE banner. You MUST claim your free ticket by 5pm this Wednesday (8 Jan 2014) – otherwise, if you want to go see LORE on 29th Jan you will have purchase a ticket.
