Beastie Boys’ MCA dies
Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch has died after a three year battle with cancer, aged 47.
Yauch revealed in 2009 that he had a cancerous tumor in a salivary gland. As a result, the band canceled its scheduled concerts and delayed the release of an album.

WHITNEY HOUSTON dies aged 48
Whitney Houston has been found dead on Saturday afternoon at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills California. After failed resuscitation efforts she was pronounced dead at 3.55pm Pacific Standard Time (12.55pm Sunday afternoon NZ Time).
She was reportedly found by her body-gaurd and Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen has said there were “no obvious signs of criminal intent” and that the cause of her death is being investigated.

Roxette cancel New Zealand show
Roxette have been forced to cancel their Auckland show this Saturday when Per Gessle fell ill during his flight from Stockholm to Auckland.
In a statement, the band’s management said “despite the best efforts of all involved with the tour, it has not been possible to schedule an alternative date for the Auckland show within the already demanding tour schedule”.
The tour will resume as scheduled in Brisbane on Tuesday.
