They have just released their single Wazabi on May 10th – it drips a wonderfully weird wobble over some seriously cool pulsing beats. Or something; I dunno, I just really like it. Stream new 2:54 b-side
I’ve mentioned 2:54 on Cheese on Toast before – sister du who named themselves after their favorite moment of the Melvins’ song History of Bad Men.
The Quietus just posted about them too – their album is out at the end of the month and they are about to support The XX at Battersea Arts Centre.

THE GREAT NORTH announce new album and tour
The Great North have announced their sophomore album – Halves – will be released at Grey Lynn Library Hall on May 26, with support from Tono and the Finance Company. This will be followed by a nationwide tour in June.
